Jabari Parker Officially Declares for NBA Draft

We share in your excitement Mr. Parker
What a great start to the day. The sun is shining, spring is in the air and Jabari Parker will be drafted to an NBA team this June. As first reported by Sports Illustrated this afternoon, Jabari Parker has declared for the 2014 NBA Draft in a sit-down interview with Jeff Benedict. This means that all those ramifications I talked about are now ancient history! Now that Parker is officially in, all of the "big three" that are projected to be superstars in this year's draft have declared. The consensus is that some combination of Wiggins, Embiid and Parker will go 1-2-3 in the draft but all that's left is to decide that order.

A big part of that order will be decided on NBA Lottery night on May 20th. Since it is assumed that all three of those players will one day become big-time in the NBA, one could surmise that the order will be decided based on team need and not so much on talent. For example, the Sixers would rather draft Wiggins or Parker over Embiid because they already have the center position taken care of in Nerlens Noel. Although, I certainly doubt anyone would pass on Embiid if the other two choices aren't there.

Jabari officially declaring for the draft cements the excitement and hype that will be the 2014 NBA Draft. For all the fans of teams that didn't make the playoffs, May 20th can't come soon enough.
